Mathematical Description of Q-Model Cascade with Multiple Feeds and Withdrawals

  • There are possibilities of using cascades with multiple feeds and withdrawals to meet the needs of complicated separation tasks for a better separation results. The analysis of cascades with multiple feeds and withdrawals is much more difficult than conventional three-stream cascades. The difficulties can be greatly mitigated if an analytical mathematical description is provided. For multiply sectioned Q-model cascade of continuous profile with multiple feeds and withdrawals, the equations describing the distributions of cascade flows and component concentrations are derived. The solution of the equations and optimization of cascade are discussed.
