Radioimmunoassay (RIA) is a type of ultramicro analysis technique with high sensitivity. It is the foundation of modern immunoassay technology. This paper reviews the history of radioimmunoassay development and illustrates the current status and the existing problems of RIA in China in recent years. Meanwhile, it puts forward somesuggestions on how to better carry out and improve RIA in the future.
