The Feasibility of Oncolytic Adenovirus Labeled with Radionuclides for Treating Tumors

At present, the progress of oncolytic adenoviruses in tumor therapy is very fast. Although some adenoviruses have been used in clinical trials and surely bring about therapeutic effect, killing efficiency and safety have always been worried. In this review, we summarize recent developments of oncolytic adenoviruses killing tumor cells, discuss how to enhance killing efficiency of oncolytic adenoviruses, and propose a new idea that oncolytic adenoviruses can be labeled with radionuclides, which can combine oncolytic therapy and radiotherapy.
