Prototype Design of a Portable Back-scattering Detector

A back-scatter portable detector is designed. In the design, 133Ba is used as the radiation source and a low power MCU, MSP430F449 is the CPU of the measuring electronics. Two bottles filling up with water and gasoline respectively can be distinguished by a prototype of the detector. The possible application of the detector is in public security sector, and the detector can be used as a facility in antiterrorism and anti-smuggling.
