Progress of Radioactive Imaging Agent of β-amyloid in the Brain With Alzheimer's Disease

  • Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease of the brain. Formation of β-amyloid (Aβ) plaques in the brain is a major factor in the pathogenesis of AD. Detection of Aβ plaques in the brain with imaging agent of Aβ will be potentially useful in early diagnosing and monitoring the progression of the disease. Seeing from the current study, the imaging agents of ben-zothiazole derivatives labeled with 11C, 18F or 123I have excellent characteristics, and are promising for diagnosing AD in clinic.
