Kinetics of Deuterium Absorption of Titanium With Anodic Oxide Layer

  • The reaction rate for the deuterium absorption of titanium and titanium with anodic oxide layer in a constant volume system are measured in the temperature range of 475 to 680℃. The activation energy values obtained by this analysis for the absorption of titanium and titanium with anodic oxide layer are 112±2 and 187±3 kJ/mol, respectively. The thicker the oxide layer on titanium's surface is, the larger the activation energy values is. The results of experiment show that the anodic oxide layer has the property of blocking deuterium.
