The Progress of Neutron Induced Prompt Gamma Analysis Technique in 1988~2002

  • The new development of the neutron induced prompt gammaray analysis (NIPGA) technology in 1988~2002 are described. The pulse fastthermal neutron activation analysis method, which utilizes the inelastic reaction and capture reaction jointly is employed to measure the elemental content in the material more efficiently. The lifetime of the neutron generator is more than 10 000 h and the capability of HPGe, TeZeCd and MCA(multichannel analyser) reaches the high level. At the same time, Monte Carlo Library leastsquare method is used to solve the nonlinearity problem in the PGNAA(Prompt Gamma Neutron Activation Analysis).
