Preparation of Radioactive ~(32)P-implanted Endovasular Stents

  • Using radioactive stents is a promising avenue to reduce the rate of restenosis after percutaneous transluminal angioplasty(PTA). The method of 32 P ion implantatron into metal stents is studied. The activity level of stents are measured by a 4π liquid scintillation detector. 85.1 kBq activity is obtained for each stent. The results show that the radioactive stents can be used in clinical testing.
