The Comparison Study Between ~(111)In-octreotide Scintigraphy and CT/MRI

  • The sensitivity of somatostatin receptor imaging using 111 In octreotide and that of CT/MRI in detecting somatostatin receptor positive tumors are compared. 22 patients with suspected primary, recurrent or metastatic tumors are examined with both planaum and SPECT, they are examined with CT/MRI, meanwhile. The results of SRI is compared with CT/MRI as well as with clinical and pathological findings. The results show that SRI is more sensitive and accurate than CT/MRI for detection of neuroendocrine tumors and lymphomas, especially in detecting extraheptic lesions. The combined functional and anatomical imagings would detect the neuroendocrine tumors and lymphomas with high yield.
