MEASUREMENTS OF URANIUM CONCENTRATIONS IN IRRADIATED FUELS BY ISOTOPIC DILUTION MASS SPECTROMETRY

  • The measurement methods of uranium concentrations in irradiated fuels by isotopic dilution mass spectrometry are described. The uranium concentrations of the highly enriched uranium and irradiated fuel uranium solutions can be calculated from the corrected isotopic ratios in the natural-uranium,highly enriched uranium, irradiated-uranium, natural-plus-highly enriched uranium, and highly enriched-plus-irradiated-uranium samples. The accuracy determinated for uranium-concentrations in irradiated fuels is ±0.50%.
