MASS SPECTROMETRIC DETERMINATION OF BORON ISOTOPE IN BORON CARBIDE

Boron isotopes are measured in boron carbide by thermionic ionization mass spectrometry with no prior chemical separation.Boron is converted to sodium borate by fusion of the boron carbide with sodium hydroxide (or sodium carbonade) directly on the rhenium filament. The boron isotopic ratios are measured using the Na_2BO_2~+ion.
