MEASURING CARBON CONTENT OF FLYING ASH FROM COAL BURNING POWER STATION

This paper studies the feasibility of measuring the carbon content of flying ash from coal burning power station by low energy gamma rays back-scatterring technique,An expression has been established for the relation between the carbon content and the back-scatterring intensity. Experimental calibration error is less than ±0,55％ (lσ). The sources of error are discussed.
