ON THE RADIATION CHEMISTRY OF AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS OF GLUCOSIDES AND SORBIC ACID

  • Three kinds of glucoside aqueous solution (baicalin, 1,8-dihydroxan-thraquinone-β-D-glueoside, glyeyrrhizin) and preservatve sorbic acid and two medicinal herbs have been investigated. The results show that the radiolysis of glueosides is mainly caused by OH radical from radiolysis of water, while hydrolysis reaction of glucosides is less important, the G value of the radiolysis of sorbic acid is high, which means that the chain polymerization reaction occured, the soaking percentages of trace metallic elements with water, such as Ba, Mu, Ca, Fe, Sr, Na and K in dry baiealin and glycyrrhizin, have no significant change after irradiation, but the soaking percentages of Cu and Ni depend on the absorbed dose and the moisture content of samples.
