THE ~(210)Po-α SPECTROMETRY AND ITS APPLICATION TO GEOCHRONOLOGY

This paper describes a method for the measurement of ~(210)Pb activity in sediments. The influences of acidity and temperature of the solution, and the spontaneous deposition time on the chemical recovery of ~(210)Po were studied, The best conditions for separation of ~(210)Po from sediments was obtained, This method has been applied successfully in the determination of the sedimentation rates of three cores from Shenzhen Bay.
