  • A simple and effective method for the separation and purification of ~(109)Cd produced by cyclotron is reported. The Ag target was dissolved with HNO_3. Ag was separated by electrochemical exchange; then ~(109)Cd was purified by anion exchange. The procedure was used to produce carrier-free ~(109)Cd successfully. No γ impurities were found in the ~(109)Cd obtained. The chemical yield was 99%.
