PRELIMINARY STUDIES OF ~(99m)Tc-PAHIDA A RENAL IMAGING AGENT

  • A new renal imaging agent ~(99m)Tc-PAHIDA was reported. The FAHIDA was synthesized and, characterized. The IR, NMR, mass spectrum and elemental analysis were consitsent with the structure. Using Sn (Ⅱ) as reducing agent PAHIDA yields a stable complex with ~(99m)To at pH 5.8. The radiochemical purity was more than 95%. Animal studies have been performed in rats and rabbits. Rabbit blood clearance data were: T 1/2 α = 1.01min, T_(β/2)= 38.9min, Cl = 76.8ml/min. The ~(99m)Tc-PAHIDA was rapidly excreted in urine with no significant extrarenal pathway, thus provided excellent renal scintigrams in rabbits. Preliminary clinical studies showed that the new renal agent labelled with ~(99m)Tc is excellent with high quality imaging and low background.
