Abstract:
To ensure the effectiveness and safety of boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), precise dose calculation and treatment planning are of critical importance. In this study, the domestic and independent Monte Carlo particle transport code cosRMC was selected for dose calculation, and an automatic modeling and conversion process was developed to transform medical CT images into cosRMC input files. A publicly available head CT dataset was chosen as a case study. Through processes such as CT image processing, cosRMC modeling, neutron transport calculation, and dose calculation, the results were compared with those obtained from the OpenMC code. The findings indicated that the average dose error between cosRMC and OpenMC was less than 3%, preliminarily demonstrating that cosRMC can be used as a dose calculation tool in BNCT-TPS.
