Abstract:
In the uranium research process line, there are still uranium residues on the surface of ceramic parts after cleaning in the process equipment. Quantitative analysis of the heel is the key to nuclear material balance and control. Active neutron counting method is a non-destructive measurement and analysis method (NDA), which has the advantage of no sampling and overall measurement. The article conducted research on the measurement and analysis technology of heel of uranium on the surface of ceramic parts based on the active total neutron counting method. Through experimental data analysis, the placement of ceramic parts was determined to reduce the spatial effect of residual distribution on the measurement equipment. Three typical geometric models were established, corresponding calibration methods were developed, and the calibration curve of the measurement system was established and effectively calibrated. The calibration curve of the measurement system was validated using validation samples, and the relative deviation was less than 6%. Using actual samples with nominal values for measurement, the deviation between the measured values and the nominal values of the actual samples is 5.61%. And measurements were conducted on 407 ceramic parts on site, and the analysis results were consistent with the predicted data of process operation. The analysis scope and sensitivity of this method need further research.
