Abstract:
Gamma counter is one of the most important instruments for precise quantitative assessment of the radioactivity. The accuracy of instrument performance and standardization of experimental operation are closely related to the reliability and authenticity of experimental results. In this study, three positron nuclides
18F,
68Ga and
89Zr were used to systematically evaluate the dual-probe detection efficiency, detection limit, stability and linear range on the dual-probe WIZARD2 2470 gamma counter. The results suggested that the two probes have the same detection efficiency, and the influence of the environmental background should be considered during the experiment. Good linearity relationship appeared between gamma count and radioactivity in the range of 1×10

-1, with excellent quantitative accuracy and stability. The quantitative method of the dual-probe WIZARD2 2470 gamma counter in this study is expected to provide a reference for the standardized use of similar instruments in other laboratories.
