Abstract:
The use of
14C as a tracer for oil field tracer has important value. Applying accelerator mass spectrometry to measure
14C-labeled samples obtained from the oil field tracer was presented. In order to meet the requirements of large sample size and rapid analysis, a simple sample preparation process for CaCO
3 had been established. The tracer samples used in the experiments came from two production wells. For each sample, it was divided evenly into two parts, one for carbonate extraction and another for urea carrier extraction. The AMS measurement results showed that the content of tracer
14C was slightly higher than the background value in the 1 # carbonate series, and the trend was not obvious. There might be tracer
14C in the 2 # carbonate series, but it did not match the
3H tracer results. The analysis indicated that the carbonate series might be contaminated during sample preparation. Compared with
3H, the AMS measurement results of
14C indicate that the tracer dose requested can be significantly reduce.
