Abstract:
To investigate the consistency of thyroid 131I uptake measurements by using the different equations advocated by the Society of Nuclear Medicine(SNM) and Ministry of Public Health of PRC. The thyroid
131I uptake measurements by using the different equations advocated by SNM and SFDA were carried out in 122 consecutive patients in April 2011.The Spearman correlation analysis and Bland-Altman analysis were adopted to evaluate the consistency of quantitative measurements. Spearman correlation analysis showed that the 6 h and 24 h thyroid
131I uptake measurements were highly correlated between the two methods(
r=1.000 and 0.999 respectively,
P<0.000 1). The Bland-Altman analysis showed that the consistency was perfect between the two methods. These results suggest that the thyroid
131I uptake measurements advocated by SNM and Ministry of Public Health of PRC are highly correlated and good at the clinical consistency, and the latter is more simpler and has better practicality.
