Abstract: The principle of gas chromatographic separation of hydrogen isotopes are briefly introduced in this paper. The main methods of gas chromatography,such as elution chromatography, hydrogen- displacement chromatography, self- displacement chromatography and frontal chromatography are discussed in detail as well as its applications. Perspective focused on the development of hydrogen isotope separation by gas chromatography was presented．
