Abstract: Basic principle,scanning methods and some cases of applications of γ ray scanning technique in petrochemical industry are described. The results of applications show that deformation and malfunction of petrochemical equipments during production can be clearly detected and investigated by γ ray scanning technique, and the malfunctional equipments can be repaired instaneously after scanning. It is avoided stopping production of the equipments.
