STUDY OF RECOVERING DEUTERIUM FROM FLOWING URANIUM DEUTERIDE BED AT ROOM TEMPERATUREChen Huchi\ Jiang Guoqiang\ Li Jie(Sichuan Institute of Material and Technology, Chengdu 610007) Abstract\ Recovering deuterium from uranium deuteride bed by means of the isotopic exchange reaction between the solid and gas phases at room temperature is introduced. The mass spectrometric analysis with dividing time control sample is employed to measure the percentage concentration of the isotopic composition of gases existing from the uranium deuteride bed during the exchange process. In addition, the effect of temperature and input hydrogen pressure of bed on the gas solid exchange reaction are also examined experimentally. The results show that it is possible to recover 98% deuterium with more than 60% purity from the uranium deuteride bed under the proper condition and room temperature.Key words hydrogen\ deuterium\ uranium deuteride\ isotopic exchange
