DISCUSSIONONTHEPLANTINGPATTERNSOFALFALFANDMEADOWFESCUEINMIXEDCULTUREANDEVALUATIONFORTHEIRCONTRIBUTIONFROMN2FIXATIONYaoYunyinZhangXizhongChenMing(InstituteforApplicationofAtomicEnergy,CAAS,Beijing100094)ABSTRACTEfectsofplantingpaternsondryweight,Nyieldanddinitrogenfixationinalfalfa-meadowfescuepasturearestudiedbyusingsplitplotdesigninthefieldfortwosuccesiveyears.Theresultsshowthatthepaternofrowseedinginmixture(RM)issuperiortothepaternofbroadcastinginmixture(BM)andintercropping(TC),andadvantageoustodevel-opthesuperiorityoflegume-grassmixedpasture.TheannualaverageofdryweightforRM,BMandTCis1535.9g/m2,1208.8g/m2and1249.3g/m2respectively.Theannualaver-ageofNyieldofthemis50.83g(N)/m2,36.65g(N)/m2and36.86g(N)/m2.TheannualaverageNdfais42.37g(N)/m2,28.21g(N)/m2and28.42g(N)/m2,and%Ndfais83.4%,77.0%and77.1%forRM,BMandTCrespectively.Thecomparisonof15Nisotopedi-lutionmethod,natural15NabundancemethodandtotalNdiferencemethodtomeasure%Nd-faofherbageforalthetreatmentsaremade.Keywordsalfalfameadowfescueplantingpaterndinitrogenfixation
