EVALUATION OF THYROGLOBULIN ASSAYYROGLOBULIN ASSAY IN THE FOLLOW-UP OF PATIENTS WITH DIFFERENTIATED THYROID CARCINOMALuo Jia;Li Jianguo;Ni Jichang;Ren Bangming; Chen Xianyu(Nuclear Medicine Department of First Affukuated Hospital Chongqing Medical University,630042)ABSTRACT Serum thyroglobulin level are measured in 38 patients who had undergone thyroidectomy and~(131)I ablation for differentiated thyroid carcinoma. Of 32 patients with metastases and recurrences,HTg lev-el are elevated(>11μg/l)in 24(75%)and there are abnormal~(131)I imaging in l9(60%).Of the re-maining patients with absence of thyroid cancer demonstrated by other clinical critera,HTg level are below 11 μg/l.These results suggest that the serum HTg level are of considerable value but position in the use of HTg levels is not as a replacement for~(131)I imaging in monitoring the activity of thyroid can-cer.Based on the study,however,the two methods can complement each other to achieve maximun sensitivity and reliblity.Key words HTg differentiated thyroid cancer~(131)I imaging
