Theresults show that the percentage of complete pain relief, partial pain relief and non-response after theradiotherapy is 17. 6/00, 74. 5/00, and 7. 8% respectively. The whole-body bone scanning images of15 patients before and after the radiotherapy show that the selective radiouptake in skeletal lesions of 7patients remained unchanged. In the other 8 patients, 19 skeletal lesions ameliorated completely orpartly. New lesions are found in two cases. Bone repairment is found in XCT scans in one patient. Most of the patients get improvement in constitutional symptoms. Leukocyte-count-radiation-effectand nausea have occurred only about 3. 9%, showing that the treatment has no significant myelotoxici-ty. This study indicates that ~(153)Sm-EDTMP might be used as a safe radiopharmaceutical therapy fortreatment of bone metastasis.Key words bone cancer bone scanning image ~(153)Sm-EDTMP bone metastasis
