Abstract:
STUDY ON RICE ABSORPTION AND DISTRIBUTION OF Cd INAPPLYING Zn FERTILIZER WITH ~(65)Zn、~(115)Cd~m TRACING TECHNIQUETang Nianxin;Shen Jinxiong(Institute for Application of Atomic Energy,Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences,Wuhan 430064)ABSTRACT Results of study by using ~(65)Zn and~(115)Cd~m tracers show that, along with the increase of theamount of Cd in applying Zn fertilizer to soil, rice has the phenomena of growth retard and tillering de-lay in the earlier growing stage,The inhibiting phenomenon is lightened along with the progress of ricegrowth.Very small quantity of Cd might be helpful to the growth of rice,It would cause serious inhibi-tion to rice growth when the amount of Cd reaches to a definite limitation(64×10~(-6)).The distribu-tion of Cd in a rice plant follows the following order in content : root>stem and leaves>brown rice>ear stalk>rice shell.Cd is mainly accumulated in rice root, taking 90% of the total amount ofCd contained in whole rice plant. The amount of Cd absorl1ed by rice increases with the amount of Cdapplied to soil, though the total absorption extremely low,for example. only about 0.1% of theap-plied amount could be absorbed by two crops of rice, most of the applied Cd still retaines in soil.Lessand less Zn could be absorbed and utilized by rice along with the increase of the amount of the appliedCd.Application of Mn fertilizer affects negatively the absorption of Cd by rice, especially in brown nce.
