Abstract: In this paper, the design, experiment and measurement results of ~(153)Gd production by irradiated Eu_2O_3 were described. The yield of ~(153)Gd, neutron fluence depression from the neutron absorption and self shielding effect of target material as well as its influence on large scale ~(153)Gd production were discussed.
